New Epcot France A new 8-die machine was installed at Les Halles in Epcot’s France pavilion. The machine replaced a 3-die machine with a secret die that was never placed into service. Unfortunately, this preloaded machine delivers poorly aligned pennies, as shown in the photos. We hope to get better sets in January, and are discounting these in light of their condition. OLD FIND – THEME PARK COMPLETE SETS FROM 2012-2014 While sorting through old boxes I located complete sets from some of the parks, all on uncirculated copper cents and AU or BU quarters. Each set may have 2 or 3 pennies with some staining on the coins. These are being sold as complete sets, and are not being sold as single coins or single machines. However, some of these machines are available in my listings for the respective parks, so I have included my set numbers to facilitate searching on those pages. Each set reflects a snapshot in time – for example, a set from 2014 will have all the coins from a particular date, but not all the coins issued during that year. EPCOT CENTER – FUTURE WORLD When you enter the park from the parking lot side, you are looking directly south. Cast members divide the Future World section by “west” and “east.”

MOUSE GEAR The park’s main retail store, Mouse Gear, was redesigned in 2021 and renamed as Creations Shop. The penny presses that were located in Mouse Gear have been either retired or scattered to other locations.

EPCOT RETRO LOGO PRESSED ON ARGENTINA 1-PESO BIMETAL COIN A true rarity! The Epcot retro logo quarter design pressed on a bimetal peso coin from Argentina. These turned out great! Both sides shown in photos - the alignment of sun logo and whether it appears on the front or back will differ with each coin. The coins are circulated. [Presscoins #EPC0083] Note: due to the bimetal composition, a small gap sometimes appears between the two metals (a sample is visible on the photo of the reverse). This happens because the two metals have different reactions to the rolling process. This is a natural process.

STAR WARS – ex-MOUSE GEAR This Star Wars set from Once Upon a Toy (DTD24) was moved in 2017 from Disney Springs to Epcot’s Mouse Gear store. It later moved to Mission: Space in 2020 when Mouse Gear was closed for refurbishment. In late July 2020 the machine was replaced at Mission: Space by a new 8-die machine. Presscoins.com erroneously reported this machine as retired, but it actually was placed at one of the Star Wars stores at Disney Springs. These are zinc pennies distributed by the machine. Copper cents are not available.

BIG HERO 6 CHARACTER CONNECTION Retired, then brought back to Pizza Planet, then retired again, then brought back to Epcot, then retired again A machine with 3 designs from the Big Hero 6 movie was added in November 2014. Designs are Baymax 2.0, Hiro, and Fred. [DHS0111-0113] This set was retired in 2015 when the Animation Building was closed. It returned on-stage at Pizza Planet, and then was retired again when Pizza Planet was renovated in 2016. It was brought back in 2017, added to the meet and greet area at Epcot. In January 2020, the machine was removed while Epcot is being refurbished, and it is believed these designs are retired.

Phineas & Ferb set of 4 EP31B $9.99

PHINEAS & FERB SET OF 4 Taken from the two Pin Central/Innoventions machines above, here is a set of just the Phineas & Ferb coins (Presscoins #EPC0018, 0120, 0123, 0125). These coins were added in 2012, at the rate of two per machine. They replaced Kim Possible designs, and an interactive Kim Possible game at Epcot was replaced afterwards by an Agent P interactive game. The extremely rare Agent P coin from the France pavilion (now retired) is not included in this Innoventions/Pin Central set. I have only a few sets of the Phineas & Ferb coins. All the 4-die machines in Epcot were replaced in August 2019 with zinc-dispensing machines that charge $1 per coin. As a result, we are marking all the copper 4-die selections as retired.

The new machine has Doc (formerly at Yacht & Beach Club); Belle (also relocated from Yacht & Beach), and a new design - Chip & Dale. EPCOT CENTER – WORLD SHOWCASE

WATCH FOR EPCOT DESIGNS ROLLED ON NATIVE COINS I am offering a variety of native coins rolled at Epcot pavilions – such as Morocco coins rolled at the Morocco pavilion. Additional listings appear below for Mexico, Norway, China, Germany, Italy, Japan, U.K., and Canada (some countries are sold out). Each set has 3 coins (Japan has 4). Some photos show an unrolled coin for comparison and the elongated back of a coin. Some of these are pressed on circulated coins. The photos show representative sets. Due to harder coin materials, thinner coins, or smaller coins, some roll slightly short as shown in the photos. With the conversion to machine-dispensed coins, it goes without saying that these sets can never be duplicated again. So I’ll say it.

PUFFIN’S ROOST STORE AT NORWAY RETIRED SET They say that Frozen was “inspired” by Norway, so it’s only natural the machine at Norway would get at least one coin. The Frozen coin was removed and retired when the 8-die Frozen machine was moved here.

PUFFIN’S ROOST STORE 8 pennies - Frozen New 8-die electronic machine was installed in the Once Upon a Toy store at Disney Springs in May 2015. In September 2016 this machine was moved to Puffin’s Roost at the Norway pavilion in Epcot. These coins are pressed on shiny zinc cents. The machine dispenses its own coins. Originally, the machine gave circulated pennies. It was improved to at least give shiny coins. SET OF 3 ON CHINESE 1-JIAO COINS Machine #1 set of 3 pressed on uncirculated 1-jiao coins. The back has a spray-paint stain to highlight the coin’s denomination, but the heat of the pressing process has melted much of the paint away. The paint is also flaking off – these coins will look much better if you allow the paint to continue flaking off. Photo shows an elongated reverse and an unrolled coin for comparison. AFRICAN OUTPOST ON AFRICAN COINS We rolled the 4-coin set from the African Outpost on South African 20-cent pieces from the early 1990s back in the good old days when we could roll our own coins. They are slightly thicker than a penny, so we shaved down the surface that received the design. As a result, the design side is raw steel with perhaps a wisp of bronze (we have sealed this side with a light clear coat spray so the steel does not deteriorate). The reverse side is bronze, and most of them show a faint impression of the design on the reverse, the South Africa seal. Pressed on circulated coins with one side shaved to fit in the machine. Photo shows sample elongated reverse and an uncrushed South African coin – you are purchasing 4 elongated coins only. The back has been sprayed with a clear sealant, allowing the oak clusters to show through in a faded fashion. You are purchasing 3 rolled coins. JAPAN MACHINE #2 PRESSED ON JAPANESE COINS Japan produced these aluminum 5-sen coins during the second world war. They are slightly thicker than a penny, so we shaved down the surface that received the design. As a result, the design side is raw aluminum, and the reverse shows the faint outline of the coin’s original design (which includes a Chrysanthemum Seal, the royal emblem of the Emperor). They roll with a very long tail due to the soft metal, and they are not in an uncirculated state. Pressed on circulated coins with one side shaved to fit in the machine. The designs are Minnie in a kimono, Mickey in a kimono, Mickey Mouse/Japan, and Daisy Duck [Presscoins # EPC0140-0143] All the 4-die machines in Epcot were replaced in August 2019 with zinc-dispensing machines that charge $1 per coin. As a result, we are marking all these user-supplied coins as retired.

FRANCE Set of 2 pennies from Souvenirs de France. Does not include Duffy (retired) or Agent P (interactive game scarce coin). (#EPC0045, 0046) This machine was taken off-stage (and believed retired) in August 2018, but it reappeared in December 2018 in a new cabinet. In 2019 it was put back into its former electronic cabinet to accommodate the Agent P game. It still has only 2 penny designs available for cash customers. As of January 2023 this is the only machine in Epcot that allows you to use your own pennies. The third (hidden) die is for the latest version of the interactive game, which still had not been activated as of the end of December 2022.

PRESSED ON FRENCH 2-EURO CENT COINS We have arranged to press uncirculated French Euro 2-cent pieces on this machine. They have a lightly painted back surface to highlight the coin’s picture of Marianne, a national symbol. The machine was adjusted in summer 2019 and no longer accepts Euro coins. The bottom of the photo shows a raw Canadian penny and a rolled reverse. Canada has discontinued its penny. In addition, later pennies were smaller and did not roll very well. We used older Canadian copper pennies (mainly from the 1960s) to get the best size possible. This machine was replaced in August 2021 by an 8-die zinc-dispensing machine.

Epcot – Set of 9 Duffy coins from Epcot (8) and Animal Kingdom (1) – current as of December 2018. Animal Kingdom: Safari Duffy with "Animal Kingdom" beneath. Epcot: Sailor Duffy from Pin Central, plus the following nations: China, Japan, Mexico, United States, Germany, United Kingdom, & Canada. The designs were all introduced in 2011, except Japan (2014). The France die was retired in June 2012 and is not part of this set. The early version of the Innovations Duffy coin is not included – this set includes its replacement from Pin Central, but pressed on copper instead of the current zinc.
