One of the few state capitols
without a traditional dome |
* HOUSE FROM A CHRISTMAS STORY Cleveland, Ohio NEW SECOND MACHINE This
machine was installed just days after our visit in June 2025. It’s a hand-crank machine that takes your
quarters and pennies, and we rolled these on cleaned & polished U.S.
copper cents. Two designs
appear to be the same as two designs in the automated “Ralphie” machine. We are still studying them to determine if
they are truly identical. Those two
designs are the House logo and the famous leg lamp. The other two designs in this machine are
Bumpus House and a pig with “how the piggy’s eat” (yes, they misspell it as
piggy’s instead of piggies). All coins
roll slightly short (as shown in photo). |
* SHORES & ISLANDS VISITOR CENTER Sandusky, Ohio This
machine was added to the visitor center in Sandusky in 2024. These are rolled
on cleaned & polished Canadian 1964 copper cents, which are the same size
as a U.S. copper penny. Designs:
Boy With the Boot (a local statue that is found in many cities); Lake
Erie Love; Ferris wheel (probably representing Cedar Point); Marblehead
Lighthouse. We rolled
only a few sets but will restock them if they sell out. |
||||
TOLEDO ZOO Toledo, Ohio Three new machines replaced all other machines in
2024. Our visit in September 2025 produced better coins than in 2024, but we
are not entirely satisfied with the results. Please check the photographs carefully for
representative examples from the preloaded zinc machines. We have only a few copies of these sets. We keep hoping they will get
better on our next visit. |
||||||
* AQUARIUM Designs: Penguin; Ray; Tink the Sea Turtle; Octopus. All rolled on zinc pennies supplied by the

* TEMBO TRAIL Designs: Elephant; Hippopotamus; Eagle; Rhinosaurus. All rolled on zinc pennies supplied by the
machine. They tend to roll
off-center and a bit short. |
* NATURAL SCIENCE MUSEUM Designs: Sloth; Mammoth; Giraffe; Bear.

short. |

– you will received 4 pennies. |
DIAMOND
CAVERNS Park City,
Kentucky The Pappy machine (with 4 designs
and preloaded zinc coins) caused tio many problems and was removed in
2024. The old single-die, roll your
own, machine returned. It still rolls
short. We have an assortment rolled either
on uncirculated U.S. copper cents, or 1964 cleaned/polished Canada cents. |
||||
OLDE
GENERAL STORE Cave City,
Kentucky We learned of this new coin (added
in 2025) and picked up a few. They’re
rolled on 1964 Canada cents (copper) that have been cleaned and
polished. They all roll slightly
short, cutting off border dots and some lettering (see photo). The machine charges more for these than a
standard machine. While visiting, we learned that a
new 3-die machine had also been added days earlier. We have those in the next listing --ŕ (item, KY29) |
OLDE
GENERAL STORE Cave City,
Kentucky Sometimes we get to a destination
and find a machine has been removed. Other
times we get there and find a machine has been unexpectedly added! This 3-die machine was added days
before our August 2025 visit. We
rolled sets on Canadian copper 1964 cents that have been cleaned and
polished. They charge more for these
coins than the standard 50 cents, so we have to ask for more. Designs: “I got smashed at the Olde
General Store”; running horse; Kentucky state map. |

Arch’s gift shop. Both dispense
preloaded zinc coins. The 8-die

well-cleaned zinc pennies. |
GATEWAY
ARCH NATIONAL PARK St, Louis,
Missouri The 4-die penny press uses
circulated and cleaned zinc pennies.
Most are in good condition, but an occasional penny will show signs of
wear or staining. |
GATEWAY
ARCH NATIONAL PARK St, Louis,
Missouri A national park token from the Old
Courthouse, which is part of the Gateway Arch National Park and the location
of the trial in the Dred Scott case (which reached the U.S. Supreme Court,
where the Court ruled that slaves were not citizens and could not sue for
their freedom). Photo shows both sides of token;
you will receive a single coin. |
||||
WALLY’S Fenton (St.
Louis), Missouri There are two Wally’s locations so
far – Fenton Missouri (this listing) and Pontiac Illinois (separate
listing). The gas station plans two
new locations in the next year or so (Indiana and Missouri), so watch for
more pennies from this chain. |

||||
BASS PRO Springfield,
Missouri The Springfield Bass Pro is the
oldest store in the chain. It has
multiple museums, dining, an outlet store, and more. It also has 3 penny presses, although one
(#4) was out of order during my visit. PennyCollector machine #3 is
located by the checkout area and is a regular coin-operated machine. The designs are: bear; owl; raccoon; tree
with “Big Cedar Lodge.” Rolled on 1964
Canada copper cents, cleaned & polished for a high shine. |
BASS PRO Springfield,
Missouri PennyCollector machine #5 is a
zinc-dispensing machine located on the upper level near the entrance to the
store’s pay-to-watch aquarium. We have
to charge more because of the higher price point. Someone had reported this

definitely there in August 2025, though. |

KAWAII
BUBBLE TEA – QUARTERS! Clinton
Township, Michigan We are finally stocking the Kawaii
Bubble Tea sets on quarters. These are
rolled on BU U.S. quarters, and this is the complete set of 3. Designs: Cartoon panda Cartoon fox Cartoon cup of bubble tea Here’s the story behind these. When Kawaii Bubble Tea ordered a penny
press for their Mt. Clemens location, the engraver mistakenly made oversized
dies using the quarter-size template.
New penny-sized dies were rapidly prepared, and when installed the
machine rolled pennies. The quarter dies sat idle until
Kawaii opened a second location, on Garfield Road in nearby Clinton
Township. They decided to use the quarter
dies at that location. Eventually the
Mt. Clemens location closed and the penny press moved to Clinton Township,
where it now sits side-by-side with the quarter machine. Both machines press the identical designs,
but in different sizes (large/small) and on different host coins
(quarters/pennies). Yes, we have the pennies too –
they’re pictured on our Michigan
page, or you can use the second “add to cart” button below to order
them. |

NEW
TEST TRACK SET IN JULY
2025 To coincide with the
refurbishment of Test Track, a new set of 8 designs was introduced on July
21, 2025. These primarily follow a
“test dummy” theme, and they lack Test Track logos. The prior machine is retired. These are on zinc pennies
supplied by the machine. We expect
these to have Presscoins catalog number WDW25037-250454. |
GRAND FLORIDIAN WOODEN NICKEL We’re not exactly
sure when these were produced. It’s strange because Mickey is dressed in
construction gear, so maybe they were handed out during a construction
project there. These are only
slightly used and in very good condition. The blue ink on the wooden nickels
is a bit darker than the photo shows. Photo shows both
sides of a single coin. |

EPCOT & BUSCH GARDENS FOREIGN COIN SETS We recently acquired
some of the coin sets sold as souvenirs at the theme parks. All are unopened and in excellent condition
with mint coins, although their original plastic shrink wrap may have bent
corners that don’t affect the cardboard inserts or the coins themselves. The photos
show both sides of these sets. Packages measure about 5-1/2” x 8”. All except the
“unknown origin” package have slots for the coins, so they can be removed
without damage. The unknown origin
set’s coins are glued or taped to the cardboard backing. We have only
one of each. |

EARLIER SET This Epcot souvenir item

Morocco, Mexico, Germany, France, Norway, United Kingdom, Italy, United
States, Canada, Japan and China (Hong Kong).
European coins are pre-Euro.
All coins are in BU (brilliant uncirculated) condition. This is an earlier set than our
sets 1 & 2. Its original price was
$7.95. While it has the same countries
as the other sets, the denominations differ for the Mexico, Italy, and China
coins. The U.S. penny is a 1958 wheat
cent (the other sets have Lincoln Memorial zinc pennies). |
BUSCH
GARDENS The Busch Gardens souvenir set
has low-denomination coins from France, Germany, Italy, United States, Egypt,
Mali, Congo, Kenya, Tanzania, Morocco, and United Kingdom. The U.S. penny is dated 1999 (zinc). Busch

UNKNOWN
ORIGIN – SOUTHERN EUROPE COIN COLLECTION This set doesn’t have any theme
park markings but was part of the collection we purchased. It may or may not
have come from a park. The packaging
credits “Coins of the Continents” in Tallahassee, Florida. This is “set #7 of 8.” It’s called “Coins of Southern
Europe,” and the coins are glued or taped to the cardboard backing. The
reverses are not visible, so some dates are hidden. The most recent visible date is 1990, but
the package refers to statistics from an almanac dated 2002 and notes that
some countries adopted the Euro in 2002. Countries included: Austria,
Czechoslovakia, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, and
Yugoslavia. Unlike the theme park
sets, they did not necessarily use the lowest-denomination coins for this
set. The coins appear to be
uncirculated, but glue will defeat that grading. Foreign
set – unknown origin $8.99 |
