NEW DISNEY’S ANIMAL KINGDOM COINS REPLACE ANNIVERSARY PENNIES In May 2024 the three designs commemorating Animal Kingdom’s 25th anniversary were replaced with three new designs. Mickey walking; Wish; and Huey, Dewey & Louie. Each of the three machines at Discovery Trading Company received a single new die in May, and each had also received a new die in January (those coins are available with our undated 2024 sets, featured below). . We have batched the three new dies into a single set so you don’t have to buy the older designs while building your complete sets. Presscoins # WDW24065-24067. The current penny press designs at those locations lack any Disney references (although retired machines at the Disney Springs location had Rainforest characters riding Disney attractions). All machines were reported retired in September 2025. EXPEDITION EVEREST SET NEW IN 2022 Expedition Everest (Serka Zong Bazaar) – set of 8 preloaded zinc; machine added in May 2022. Although some designs are similar to older designs from Everest and Animal Kingdom, these are all new engravings. AK42 $12.99
AK15 $11.99		ANANDAPUR YAK & YETI RESTAURANT Yak & Yeti is not owned by Disney – it is owned and operated by Landry’s, Inc., which also owns the Rainforest Cafes and T-Rex restaurant at Disney World. Note that their penny presses do not incorporate Disney designs or characters. The Landry’s restaurants also have the only hand-crank 4-die machines in Animal Kingdom. Copper is not available. Trivia: the Disney company helped Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry purchase the most complete (and expensive) T Rex fossil, now known as Sue. As a partial reward, Disney was presented a full-scale replica, which is displayed in Dinoland USA.
