MAYFIELD DAIRY Athens, Tennessee Many dairies and farms have taken on a role to educate and entertain the public. The Mayfield Dairy has a penny press in their visitor center with 4 dies. This complete set is rolled on uncirculated copper cents. Designs: logo; Divco milk truck; Turtle Tracks with cartoon turtle; milkman’s carry rack with bottles. TN74 $5.99			COOTERS Pigeon Forge, Tennessee History was made on January 10, 2024 when – after more five years of trying – I finally got a Cooters machine to roll 4 coins in a row. Their machines at their Tennessee locations always seem to be out of order. They are the worst machines in the southeast and make the Buc-ee’s machines seem reliable. The second machine was out of order, of course, but my luck with machine #1 is your gain. These pennies are poorly aligned, but they are miracle pennies. We may never be able to stock them again. Designs: Cooter’s tow truck; General Lee car; General Lee number 01; sheriff’s badge. The coins all say “Gatlinburg” but this museum is now located in Pigeon Forge. Pressed on cleaned copper cents that may show signs of streaks. ] GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAIN RAILROAD STORE Bryson City, North Carolina The 4-die machine was rolling woefully bad when we visited in early August. For the first time ever, though, we have the single die machine, rolled on copper. All copies rolled short (see photo). SILVER GALLEON/OBER MOUNTAIN Gatlinburg, Tennessee This Pennycollector machine is in the Ober Mountain lobby, located at the front by the tenant Silver Galleon. As a result, this is regarded as Silver Galleon’s machine on the Pennycollector website. Complete set of 4 on copper. These coins show streaking as if the coins were cleaned before use. THE ISLAND – ISLAND TRADING POST Pigeon Forge, Tennessee Complete set of 8, rolled on preloaded zinc cents. This is the only 8-die machine I have encountered in the Smoky Mountains area (yet). Parking is easy in Sevierville and Pigeon Forge, and nearly impossible in Gatlinburg. The hardest part: many of the buildings do not put street addresses in a visible location. All are pressed on uncirculated copper pennies that have fingerprints or streaks, so I consider them blemished
							RAINFOREST ADVENTURES ZOO MEDALLION Sevierville, Tennessee Medallion (approximately the size of an old silver dollar) from the Rainforest Adventure in Sevierville, Tennessee. Note: this facility is not associated with the national Rainforest Café restaurant chain. It is an indoor zoo with real animals, unlike Rainforest Café. 	ELY’S MILL Gatlinburg, TN Two machines have been found at this attraction. The 4-die machine (set TN19) is from the gift shop and has been on-site for a while. The 5-die machine (set TN20) is new, and is located at the restroom building. There was another 4-die machine but due to disrepair it has been replaced by the 5-die machine. 	GATLINBURG VISITOR CENTER Gatlinburg, TN A popular set from an animated bear machine at the welcome center. This store receives a lot of visitors because it also serves as a terminus of the free Gatlinburg tourist trolley – a bargain in a city where parking is rare and priced accordingly.
