MEADOW TRADING POST Fort Wilderness The hardest machine to get to unless you are camping at Fort Wilderness – three new designs were added in January 2024 to replace the 100 Years of Wonder coins from 2023. Although we have to place a higher price on them due to the time involved, we made sure to get a few extra sets beyond what we needed for the complete sets of 2024 new coins. Hiking Mickey (WDW24049), camping scene (WDW24048), Goofy fishing (WDW24050). Pressed on shiny zinc pennies supplied by the machine. Set RES107 $8.99

RIVIERA RESORT We don’t know the complete official story, but here’s a reliable unofficial version of these sets. When Riviera was getting ready to open in December 2019, Disney’s vendor placed an 8-die machine in the building and activated it. The machine was reportedly available for only a single day (December 10) during media previews, when a Disney executive apparently caught wind of its existence and ordered it removed. The machine was placed in a closet – so near, and yet so far, and we know of no public access to it for more than three years. There were two factors at play. First, and this is definitely unofficial but comes from a reliable collector, Disney Vacation Club wants to keep its properties “exclusive” to members and objected that a penny press would attract unwashed collectors like you and me. Second, the vendor who controls all penny presses at Disney World has been known to overstep its bounds in the past, so placing a machine in a discouraged location is not a huge surprise. Remember, the vendor put its Pennycollector.com inscription on the border of the Toy Story Land set of 4 Pixar pennies a few years ago, and had to replace those dies within a few days. They also switched to circulated coins in all their machines in 2021, which caused a ton of complaints to Disney about its quality standards and resulted in the vendor going back to uncirculated zinc cents. For whatever reason, the machine was returned to a public area in mid-March 2023. And that’s good news. [Presscoins #WDW23002-23009] Complete set of 8 zinc pennies #RES97 $12.99

UPDATED CONTEMPORARY RESORT QUARTER SET It was hard to keep up with some sets when there were so many dated quarters and pennies changing the composition annually. The updated Contemporary Resort set – but now retired set – includes the Snow White quarter (this die has gotten worn down in recent years, so her facial features are washed out), Dumbo, and the Friends quarter (RES0252), which was retired from the Grand Floridian machine and now replaces the old dated quarter at the Contemporary. ART OF ANIMATION RESORT 2021 SET Set of 3 from one of the two machines at the Art of Animation Resort, this set includes the new 2021 penny (WDW21015) plus Nemo and Lightning McQueen (two coins that have been available at this location for years). Pressed on copper, these coins may have staining on their surfaces. We have not attempted to clean them. This machine was retired in August 2021. Set #RES02B $7.99

POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT 2021 SET We have also made sets from the Polynesian Resort machine with the new 2021 penny (WDW21014) featuring Minnie Mouse. This set includes Bruce the shark and Pocahontas kneeling, both of which have been available here for years. Pressed on copper, these coins may have staining on their surfaces. MICKEY MOUSE ON KENYA BI-METAL 5 SHILLINGS This is one of the most attractive coins we have ever created – Mickey Mouse from the Tuxedo series (Presscoins #RES0036) rolled on a bi-metal 5 shillings coin from Kenya. These coins are the same size as a U.S. penny, so watch for them in the bargain bins at coin shows – they’re a real gem! You will receive a single coin. The photo shows a representation of both sides. These coins are circulated but still produce beautiful results. #RES0036k $11.99

2021 MINNIE MOUSE ON WHEAT CENT We have a few Polynesian Village Resort Minnie Mouse 2021 pennies (WDW21014) rolled on circulated wheat pennies. The photo shows samples of two sides – you will receive a single coin. We only rolled three of these, so hurry if you collect Wheaties! #WDW21014w $4.99

POCAHONTAS ON INDIAN CENT This has been in the planning stages for years, and we finally pulled it off. The kneeling Pocahontas penny from the Polynesian Village Resort (Presscoins #RES0078) is now available on a circulated Indian Head cent. The layouts will vary, with the head visible on the reverse on some pennies, and the shiled visible on others. You will also see remnants of the original source coin on the obverse since these are circulated pennies. You will be purchasing a single coin. SIMBA ON HONG KONG SCALLOPED 10 CENTS Wilderness Lodge Simba coin rolled on circulated Hong Kong 10-cent pieces. These coins are scalloped (the fancy edge) and come from either British rule or Chinese rule. As you can see from the photo, they roll slightly short. #RES0060hk $3.99

POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT In October 2018 the first-floor 3-die machine was replaced with an 8-die zinc dispensing machine. All the coins are themed to the movie Moana. Designs: I’ll admit I don’t know all the character names/descriptions, but there are 3 of Moana; 2 of Maui; HeiHei with Pua; and 2 coins with other characters The quality of these rolls is not very good. Although the designs don’t get cut off, the alignment cuts into the border dots on several coins in each set. I am dropping the price due to this sub-standard result. [Presscoins #WDW18124-18131]

FORT WILDERNESS – SETTLEMENT TRADING POST Former dies from Prop Shop and Cap’n Jack’s (3) The designs were first available at Cap’n Jack’s at Downtown Disney, divided among two machines. In 2014 the dies were collected onto one machine and placed at the Prop Shop at Hollywood Studios. This machine was moved in January 2015 to the Settlement Trading Post at Fort Wilderness. As a result of all these moves, Presscoins has assigned 3 catalog numbers for each. Other machines at the Settlement had disappeared in late 2014, and eventually popped up at the bus stop at the Wilderness Lodge, and are available elsewhere on this page under the Wilderness Lodge heading. Vero Beach Resort – complete set of 3 pennies & 1 quarter – this resort is located on the Atlantic Ocean and is not at the Disney World property, making these coins hard to get Complete set of all 4 pressed coins from Disney's Vero Beach Resort. These are hard to get because the Vero Beach Resort is part of the Disney Vacation Club on the Atlantic Ocean, and is not near Disney World. Complete set of 3 pennies from machine #1, and a quarter from the single-die machine #2. CARIBBEAN BEACH RESORT After nearly two years, the Caribbean Beach Resort reopened its Old Port Royale building. In the process, it retired 4 machines on the property (3 at Old Port Royale, and one at Custom House) and replaced them with this 8-die machine in October 2018. OLD DIES REPLACING DATED DIES When Disney offered dated coins in the 3-die machines, it was always an administrative nightmare determining how to package those coins for sale. The best option seemed to be to offer sets of that year’s new quarters and pennies rather than offering individual machine sets that likely had two coins that were already in your collections from years past. When we had an overstock we might offer sets from specific machines with two old coins and one new, but they weren’t very popular so we seldom sold any. Now that the dated coins are gone from most machines and those dies have been replaced with old designs from the past, it is easier to get a handle on those options. We were able to roll a few sets of the “current” coins – although those quarter machines were retired in October 2021 (notably two All Star resorts). Here we offer some coin sets that had not been available for years on our website due to the devotion to dated coin sets and our decision not to offer the two non-dated coins for sale. These were rolled mainly in September 2021 and some are among the last rolled from these machines on quarters or copper cents.

ALL STAR MOVIES PENNY SET – 2021 version This is an extension of our old set RES33 and has Tuxedo Mickey (#2 of 6) [Presscoins #RES0136] and Buzz Lightyear [RES0109]. Those two coins have been in this machine for years. Replacing Rex, and later the dated penny, is a design featuring a grouping of Donald, Goofy & Mickey holding Mickey-ear hats [MGM0049], which had previously been available at Hollywood Studios’ Studio Store. ALL STAR MOVIES QUARTER SET – 2021 version Retired in early October 2021, this set features two coins that were available for years at this machine – Lilo & Stitch (Friends #4 of 8) [Presscoins #RES0250] and Bambi (Friends #2 of 8 – all roll slightly short) [RES0283]. Filling the gap left by the retirement of the dated quarter (which occupied a spot since 2014) is Merida and the cubs [EPC0128], which had been at The Land at Epcot. ALL STAR MUSIC QUARTER SET – 2021 version Also retired in early October 2021, this set features two coins that were available for years at this machine – Stitch [Presscoins #RES0232] and Sulley & Mike [RES0294]. 8 DISNEY SPRINGS AREA HOTELS: 7 DISNEY SPRINGS AREA HOTELS ON HOTEL PLAZA BOULEVARD + 1 ON BONNET CREEK In April 2018 a series of 3-die machines was added to five hotels in the Disney Springs area. Later that summer 3-die machines were added in 3 more area hotels. Some sets were reported as retired by Presscoins.com shortly after the coronavirus shutdown. Then there were reports that all the Disney Stores in these locations have been closed due to lack of traffic. Still, three machines survived, although some are not placed in Disney Stores that may have shut down: Wyndham has 2 machines (including one relocated from a Hilton); and Hilton Bonnet Creek still has its machine.
