BERLIN OHIO
An assortment of 3 extra pennies
left over after we managed to roll sets from a machine in Berlin, Ohio. It’s
our understanding that two different machines have the same (or similar)
dies. I don’t remember which place
these came from, but the machine was on a porch and appeared to be both
handmade and hand-destroyed. Rolled on unciculated copper
cents. |
LINCOLN PRESIDENTIAL MUSEUM
Lincoln
penny book with unique coin in the cover from the museum in Springfield. I am
not sure if this is still available – this one dats back 6 or 7 years. New, in original plastic wrap. |
|
16 PENNIES

some fingerprints on these coins.
Pressed on zinc pennies supplied by the machine. Also check
out our complete assortment of new and retired MSI
pennies on the Illinois page

THE INCLINE
– 3 COPPER PENNIES FROM
MACHINE THAT THINKS IT DISPENSES ZINC Chattanooga,
Tennessee
The 4-die machine at the Incline is
intended to dispense zinc pennies, but when vendors stock them with
circulated coins we occasionally find copper cents in the mix. Three of the machine’s four designs are
available in this lot, pressed om circulated coppers. The photo does not show all the blemishes –
I have not tried to clean these. Also check
out our complete sets of 4 on the Tennessee page

COLUMBUS ZOO RETIRED MACHINE – PRIVATE ROLLER

possible European copper coin slightly larger than a penny. All are blemished (I use blemished coins to

CEDAR POINT FRONTIER TOWN COPPER SET
Cedar Point transitioned to zinc-dispensing machines at a higher price
point. We occasionally get copper
cents from the machines, though, and like to put them together as sets for
the more discerning collectors. We
have not tried to clean these; they are circulated coins as provided
by the machine. Complete set of 3 from the Frontier Town machine near the back of the park.
All other Cedar Point machines have been found (for the past couple years)
near the front of the park at the arcade. |
OHIO/INDIANA SET

completed sets for resale. All are
pressed on uncirculated copper, but may show some signs of handling. Includes Indianapolis raceway and Ohio’s

|
TOLEDO ZOO FLAWED SET
The machines at the Toledo Zoo have been horrible, mainly
rolling off-center. I hope you’ll find
a few coins you can salvage. Set of 12 on flawed preloaded zinc. We have multiple sets. They all look
similar to this. |

“copy,” and with a modern date (2003).

the size of an old $20 gold piece. Both sides shown in photos. |
|
BLEMISHED HOUSE FROM A CHRISTMAS STORY SET
This set of 4 comes from the animated “Ralphie in bunny
suit” machine, one of two at the gift shop in Cleveland. These coins have a number of dark spots on
them. Pressed on zinc pennies supplied
by the machine. |
COIN SHOP IN BUCYRUS OHIO
Thye coin store in Bucyrus continues to be unlisted on
Pennycollector. They have a 5-die post
press built by The Penny press Machine Company (TPPMCo.). Being a TPPMCo machine, the designs are
intentionally smaller to fit 5 dies on a 4-die ring. These are a couple of extras from our summer 2025 rolling
mission. They feature one local
business logo and a tribute to a local female aviator. Uncirculated copper pennies. The backstamps with the store’s logo are
cut off halfway. |
‘UNELONGATED’ PINE TREE SHILLING TOKEN
Damaged token with a stain and a tiny piece of metal
missing (top, 12:00 position). These
were rolled on thin pewter, so some flaws are expected – but this one is
little outside our normal tolerance range.
Both sides shown in photos – you will receive one coin. The Pine Tree Shilling was a colonial coin from
Massachusetts. This commemorative
version was rolled at the CSNS convention in 2024. The process involved rolling an oblong blank
through a riocker press, which turned it into a round coin – a process I
called “unelongating” in an article for TECNews at the time. We have good versions of this token and its
2025 companion “Cornhusker Shilling” on our Private Rollers/Clubs
& Shows page. |

PAWN STARS PENNY ON INDIAN HEAD CENT
The famous Chumlee penny with his dog Pinky. Produced in 2019 and featured on the
television show, these coins are rolled on Indian Head cents (copper,
of course) with visible dates on the reverse. Multiple copies
available. |
MISROLLED AND OFF-CENTER COINS We roll thousands of coins ever year. It’s inevitable that
some will not meet the quality we expect for our customers. Each bag of rejects has mainly copper cents, with some
zinc. Each will also have a smattering
of other denominations (like nickels or quarters) as well as an occasional
Indian cent or foreign coin. Some will
have 90% of the intended image, but most will have less than 50% of the
intended image. They come from Disney
parks as well as various locations in the USA. There may be duplication. Each bag weighs more than 6.5 ounces.

RAY DILLARD’S LAST PROJECT: CSNS 2020 SHOW COIN FOR CANCELED CONVENTION
When Ray passed
away, the die for the Central States Numismatic Society’s 2020 show coin was
still in his machine, and a bag of rolled pennies was discovered next to the
machine. These were sent by TEC
officers to the CSNS to fulfil Ray’s obligation. The convention,
however, was canceled due to COVID.
The coins sat in storage until 2024, when they were offered at the
convention in May. These are rolled on
copper cents with stained/dyed red backgrounds. They were not cleaned or polished, so
some show minor stains or patina.
I have weeded out any with major staining. (I have come across a
couple with different backs, and one rolled on zinc) The design depicts a
steam locomotive emerging from the CSNS logo, with
dates and location for the canceled 2020 show. This is a rare
opportunity to secure an important coin in Ray’s long history in our hobby. These will come with
a souvenir card (about the size of a baseball card) that we created to
highlight this coin’s history. |

HARRY POTTER COPPER PENNIES FROM UNIVERSAL
CITYWALK
The new Harry Potter machine at Universal CityWalk in Florida is
preloaded with zinc pennies. When it
was first introduced, though, the vendor used circulated coins – which
occasionally included copper pennies. The machines now use
fresh supplies of new zinc pennies, so this mistake is unlikely to happen
again. These are three different Harry Potter coins, all on circulated
copper. |

I cleaned
out the miscellaneous token bin to put this lot together. The photo depicts what you’ll get:
transportation, advertising, arcade, car wash, casino, state tax tokens, and
other stuff. There are a few
duplicates because you just can’t get away from those obsolete NYC transit
tokens no matter how hard you try. Both sides
shown in photo. Expect these to be
well-circulated. |

joined after (the last being Newfoundland in 1949). |

well. These sell on Ebay for $10 or
more, but are often advertised as uncirculated. |
RADIO TOKEN
Small radio token. These were typically used in places like
hospitals where patients to could use tokens to activate the in-room radio
(there was also a time when patients generally had to pay for TV service). This may be a salesman samples because most
radio tokens had a hospital name on the reverse; this one has a blank
reverse, and has “Radion Tokens” (plural) on the obverse. All the others I have seen have singular
“token,” so this may be advertising the manufacturer. About the size of a dime and seems to be made
of zinc (but possibly aluminum).
17mm. The hole is original –
that’s how these were made.. |

ZEHNDER’S &
BAVARIAN INN FRANKENMUTH “GOOD FOR” TOKEN
“Good For” tokens are redeemable for cash and
are often issued in conjunction with special civic events or as store
promotions. This one depicts the
covered bridge in Frankenmuth, Michigan, and is (or was) redeemable at
Frankenmuth’s legendary chicken restaurants, Zehnder’s and Bavarian Inn. There’s no expiration date, but this has
greater value as a collectible and we have no doubt most of them landed in
scrapbooks and collections. This is about the size of an old silver
dollar. The Token Catalog shows this as #TC-17444,
from 1981. Brass, in beautiful condition. We are marking these tokens as “used,”
though, because they came from a collection and we cannot say whether they
have even been used. ONLY ONE AVAILABLE |
MICHIGAN TOKEN HONORING U.S. BICENTENNIAL 1976 Large

peninsulas when creating an image of the state? [“Any illustration, image, or depiction of

2025 FUN
SHOW PEWTER TOKEN
These were the talk of the FUN show: Ron Landis set
up a table that showed the entire minting process live at the show, including
melting metal into ingots, rolling them to the right thickness, stamping out
blanks, applying a decorative edge, and stamping coin designs onto them. The coins are made of pewter and are roughly the
width of a U.S. penny, but are twice as thick. You will receive one token (both sides
shown in photo). Penny shown for size
reference. We were able to purchase a limited amount of the
coins. Each side bears inscriptions related
to the FUN show, so they are exclusive designs for this event (which was held
from January 9 – 12. These coins were
created in our presence on January 10.

+ 200
YEARS OF NORTH BRABANT, NETHERLANDS
The 200th anniversary
of Noord (North) Brabant, Netherlands, was celebrated in 1996 with this
official “1 poffer” coin that carried a cash
redemption value of 5 Dutch guilden at the
time. A “poffer”
is a fancy local hat. Uncirculated
condition. These are generally offered
on eBay for $15-$20. |

(but not made of gold). Measures about

EDSEL & ELEANOR
FORD HOUSE Grosse Pointe Shores,
Michigan
3 wooden nickels from the 2016
Fairy Tale Festival at the Edsel & Eleanor Ford House. Edsel Ford was Henry Ford’s only child, the
namesake of the car, and the president of the Ford Motor Company. His historic home in Michigan is open for
tours and hosts various events for the local community, including Fairy Tale
Days for the youngsters. I believe
these wooden nickels were used as tickets for rides and games. The bottom two designs are painted, and
each coin will vary slightly in clarity and positioning. The upper nickel is a standard printed
wooden nickel. The rear of all wooden
nickels is blank. Set of 3 in used condition. The photo shows a representative set. We have multiple sets, and yours will be
similar. |

ANNE OF GREEN GABLES CANADA COLORIZED $1 COIN
We don’t carry many ordinary coins, however we bought a
roll of the colorized dollar coins from the Royal Canadian Mint’s booth at
the World’s Fair of Money. This coin,
minted in 2024 and bearing the portrait of King Charles, is part of a small
series of coins honoring the Canadian classic book Anne of Green Gables. These coins are fresh from the Mint, fresh from the
roll, and uncirculated. Trivia: as
an experiment TEC’s Tyler Tyson and I rolled three
sets coins using these colorized dollars at the Chicago World’s Fair of Money
on August 9, 2024. A video of the
process was posted to the TEC Facebook page
by Vira Hora and is very educational.
The sets consist of the ANA WFOM design and
the TEC design for the show. What is TEC,
you ask? It’s the ANA-affiliated coin
club for elongated collectors, and well worth the affordable membership
price. An application to join can be found here. |
UNCIRCULATED ROLL: ECUADOR 100 SUCRES
Bank roll of 20 x 100 sucres from
Ecuador. These bimetal coins are the diameter of
a U.S. penny, but slightly thicker. Some commercial penny presses
will not accept these because of their thickness, but they are great for
private rollers or coin collectors. On a trip to northern Michigan,
about half the machines – all older machines – accepted them Roll of 20 uncirculated coins. |

Also called joss paper, “Ancestor Money”
or “Heaven Notes,” these fantasy pieces of paper are intended to be burned as
offerings or prayers for the deceased.
They are meant to reflect devotion, and often have high monetary
denominations to represent extreme sacrifice (even though the denominations
are fake). We have compiled sets of 9
different notes. They are typically
Chinese, although sometimes Vietnamese notes appear. For size comparison, each square on the
background is 1 inch, and the notes that look most like U.S. currency are the
size of regular U.S. currency. Sets B & C are different from
each other, but if you have ordered prior sets of these from us in the past,
you will see some overlap of designs.

Austrian Mint paper clips These tiny clips are great for

item for coin collectors. I have 9 of these, so unlike other

MINI WRIGLEY FIELD It’s rare that we
offer something that is blatantly unpennyish (is
that a word? It is now!), but we thought Cubs fans might appreciate these
souvenir packages with a small book and a small resin replica of Wrigley
Field. The original price was $24.99,
but we have some for half price - $12.49.
They are unused, but
we slit open the plastic tape to inspect and confirm that the models were
intact. We have only 3 copies (and we
will list them on eBay soon if they don’t sell out here). No extra charge for
shipping – our usual flat rate applies to your entire order! |
