THE GENERAL Kennesaw, Georgia One of the most famous and
historic locomotives in the nation; the Union spies who hijacked it to
disable the South’s railroad network were executed and were the first to be
awarded the Medal of Honor (posthumously).
Their effort was chronicled in the Fess Parker movie The Great Locomotive Chase. The original locomotive is part of the
collection at the Southern Museum of Civil War & Locomotive History in
Kennesaw (formerly known as Big Shanty), where the saboteurs began the

coins myself; I purchased them from another dealer/collector. Although they
are very clean, I have to characterize them as "circulated" because
