Retired machine, Pennycollector machine #2, featuring the U.S.S.

key moment in nuclear power history, check out the Oak Ridge penny from
Tennessee.

has border dots around the entire penny design, there are grip bars on both
ends, and the one on the right covers the designers initials in the

MOTHMAN MUSEUM SET OF 5 Point Pleasant, West Virginia
Complete set
of 5 from the museum dedicated to the mythical beast “Mothman.” The machine charges more for these coins,
but fortunately we are still able to roll them on our own uncirculated copper
pennies. The machines
made by The Penny Press Machine Company compress 5 designs onto a die ring
that normally would carry 4 designs.
The pennies generated are shorter than standard elongated pennies, but
this is intended – they do not roll short (as you can tell from the border
dots). Each coin
also has a backstamp, shown as the 6th coin in the photo. You are purchasing 5 pennies. ONLY A COUPLE SETS AVAILABLE |
POINT PLEASANT TRADING CO. SET OF 5 Point Pleasant, West Virginia
Next door to
the Mothman Museum, the success of the museum’s
penny press prompted this store’s owners to purchase a similar 5-die machine
for their shop in November 2024. When
we added these to our sales, the machine was still undocumented on Pennycollector. As
with the Mothman Museum, this machine charges more
for the coins, but fortunately we are able to roll them on our own
uncirculated copper pennies. The machines
made by The Penny Press Machine Company compress 5 designs onto a die ring
that normally would carry 4 designs.
The pennies generated are shorter than standard elongated pennies, but

NIAGARA FALLS STATE PARK For whatever reason, Pennycollector has trouble keeping track of the machines
in the state park – probably because collectors who report information have
trouble finding them all. As of August 8, 2023, there were six PennyCollector
machines with 4 dies each. Two were
not working properly. Locations: 4 machines at Cave of
the Winds building (2 at entrance, 2 in food area) 1 machine in Top of the Falls gift
shop 1 machine in Visitor Center gift
shop Again,
we can only offer sets from 4 machines: 3 from Cave of the Winds, and 1 at
Top of the Falls We have removed the Pennycollector
machine numbers because Pennycollector has two
different listings for the Cave of the Winds gift shop and employs two
contradictory numbering systems! |

of the most famous and historic locomotives in the nation; the Union spies
who hijacked it to disable the South’s railroad network were executed and
were the first to be awarded the Medal of Honor (posthumously). Their effort was chronicled in the Fess
Parker movie The Great Locomotive Chase. The original locomotive is part of the
collection at the Southern Museum of Civil War & Locomotive History in
Kennesaw (formerly known as Big Shanty), where the saboteurs began the
hijacking. Design:

In a few short years Alex Mruk has become one of the most prolific
private rollers in the hobby. We have arranged with Alex to sell a small percentage of his coins
to help reach a broader marker. Several coins featuring Disney/Star Wars characters immediately
caught our eye, and we have included a few other designs we thought would appeal to our
customers. Alex’s coins carry the initials “AWM” All are rolled on cleaned U.S. copper cents except AWM003 (British

bother” as he must reload his rifle. Our photo shows both sides of the
coin. These are pressed on circulated
coins, so the source coin is visible even on the pressed side. A U.S. penny is shown for size comparison. This will become a highlight of
your Disney-related collection. Catalog #AWM003 |

CENTRAL
STATES NUMISMATIC SOCIETY 2025 CONVENTION
Based on last year’s highly popular
Pine Tree Shilling design, this year the CSNS offered attendees a token
representing the convention’s theme honoring Nebraska (the CSNS is a regional
ANA club representing several midwestern states and honors one each year). These are thin, made of pewter, and were
hand-made in my presence at the convention on April 25, 2025. Being made by hand using basic machinery,
the look of each one might vary. Their creator says this will be a
series, and this is the second coin in that set. Silver versions were also created for sale
by the CSNS. Ours are pewter. While at the show, we were also
able to restock a limited number of the 2024 pine tree shilling coins

MICHIGAN
COIN CLUB SPRING
CONVENTION Kalamazoo,
Michigan The Michigan coin club’s
semi-annual show was held in Kalamazoo this year (May 8-10, 2025). A creative design with a bee, flowers, and
the club’s logo was rolled by Ryan & Justin Manley. We were able to pick up a small
number of coins rolled on shiny zinc pennies.
The machine was not located at the show, though, so we were unable to
roll any on copper. We’re offering these for a dime,
with a limit of |

THE CHICAGO COIN SHOWS Annual conventions of the American Numismatics
Association and the Central States Numismatic Society are held in the Chicago
area, creating great opportunities for collectors to build their collections
– not to mention the prevalence of penny presses throughout the Chicago
area. Attending the CSNS show in April
(in Schaumburg) and the ANA World’s Fair of Money in August (Rosemont-O’Hare)
are highlights of my year. |

A
COLLECTION OF CENTRAL STATES NUMISMATIC SOCIETY (CSNS) ANNUAL TOKENS
The CSNS show issues
a promotional coin each year to promote the event. We have quantities of 5 years (2010, 2011,
2012, 2016, 2017). These coins are
slightly larger than a quarter and are legendary for obverses that reproduce
old U.S. coin designs. We are offering all 5
for one low price, or you can order individually by year. Three come in flips, and two are
loose. |

RAY
DILLARD’S LAST PROJECT: CSNS
2020 SHOW COIN FOR
CANCELED CONVENTION, COMES
WITH BLUE SOUVENIR CARD
When Ray passed away,
the die for the Central States Numismatic Society’s 2020 show coin was still
in his machine, and a bag of rolled pennies was discovered next to the
machine. These were sent by TEC
officers to the CSNS to fulfil Ray’s obligation. The convention,
however, was canceled due to COVID.
The coins sat in storage until 2024, when they were offered at the
convention in May. These are rolled on
copper cents with stained/dyed red backgrounds. They were not cleaned or polished, so
some show minor stains or patina.
I have weeded out any with major staining. (I have come across a
couple with different backs, and one rolled on zinc) The design depicts a
steam locomotive emerging from the CSNS logo, with dates and location for the
canceled 2020 show. This is a rare
opportunity to secure an important coin in Ray’s long history in our hobby. These will come with a souvenir card (about the size of a baseball
card) that we created to highlight this coin’s history. |

CSNS
SHOW COIN ROLLED BY RAY DILLARD ON LUXEMBOURG ALUMINUM
I
had Ray roll 10 copies of the 2019 CSNS design on Luxembourg 25 centimes,
which are made from aluminum. They
make beautiful impressions. I have 7
copies available. They roll about the
size of a nickel because of the soft metal. |

NUMISMATIC SOCIETY WOODEN NICKEL Schaumburg,

A wooden nickel

sides – you will receive a single wooden nickel. |
CENTRAL STATES
NUMISMATIC SOCIETY 2018 CONVENTION
ELONGATED COINS Schaumburg,
Illinois
We discovered a hoard
of these convention coins rolled by Ray Dillard for the April 2018
convention. They are rolled on copper
cents with stained backs showing Lincoln’s head and the penny’s date. Due to handling over the years, I
characterize them as being in circulated
condition. |
